Full/Associate/Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Fellow in Artificial Intelligence at the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIA)

Description 

CASIA invites applications for full-time faculty positions at the Full/Associate/Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Fellow levels.

Areas of interest include but are not limited to the following:

1. Interdisciplinary research in AI with basic sciences (such as mathematics, brain and cognitive science, physics, psychology, etc.);

2. Brain Science and Brain-inspired Intelligence/Computing;

3. Machine Intelligence;

4. Computational Games and Evolutionary Games;

5. Robotics;

6. Human-like Audio-Visual Processing;

7. Complex Systems Modeling and Decisions;

8. Hardware and Software for AI Systems;

9. Innovative Applications of AI;

Job Requirements 

Professor: Applicants for the rank of professor should have a Ph.D. degree in Artificial Intelligence or related fields, and hold a full professorship or the equivalent rank at research-oriented universities or R&D institutes. Applicants whose current academic rank is Associate Professor or the equivalent are also encouraged to apply if they have an outstanding academic record and their research interests align with the priority areas identified by CASIA.

Associate Professor: Applicants for the position of Associate Professor should have a Ph.D. degree in Artificial Intelligence or related fields, and should have independent scientific research experience in research-oriented universities, institutions, or companies.

Assistant Professor: Applicants should have received a Ph.D. degree in Artificial Intelligence or related fields within the last three years. Applicants should have conducted publishable research in areas aligned with the priority areas identified by the CASIA.

Postdoctoral Fellow: Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Artificial Intelligence or related fields. Preference will be given to applicants who are conducting interdisciplinary research in AI with basic sciences (such as mathematics, brain and cognitive sciences, physics, etc.).

Location: CASIA has campuses in Beijing (at Zhongguancun of Haidian District and Huairou District), Wuhan, Nanjing, and Hong Kong SAR, China.

About CASIA 

CASIA was established in 1956. It is a premier AI research institute in the world and has done cutting-edge research in pattern recognition, automation science, complex systems, robotics, machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, biometrics, medical imaging, social computing, and AI hardware. CASIA is the first national research institution to carry out brain-inspired intelligence research in China. CASIA also established the first School of Artificial Intelligence in China as part of the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

CASIA houses the State Key Laboratory of Multimodal Artificial Intelligence Systems, the Laboratory of Cognition and Decision Intelligence for Complex Systems, and the National Engineering & Technology Research Center for ASIC, and the Laboratory of Brain Atlas and Brain-inspired Intelligence.
